So during my Winter Vacation, I got to see one of my best friends, Amanda, whom I forcefully applied make-up on. She didn't put up much of a fight. Anyways, she preferred a more natural look since she wasn't interested in the whole dramatic Gaga-esque look nowadays. Here I have a picture of her finished look and I was pretty delighted to hear that she absolutely loved it. I absolutely love you, Amanda! (: So here's a post dedicated to her:

Beautiful as always! She even has her own nail design blog.
I'll post the link below so you can check it out!
Until next time, everyone remain pretty!!!<3

My Drug Store Lipsticks

I personally love to find a bargain and I'm infatuated by dupes!!! I don't own many MAC brand items so I can't do a comparison with my drug store lipsticks by I will indeed tell you which ones I've favored and the ones that I will not be buying again.

Favored
So the first one would be the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Siren. I love this color for the Spring/Summer because it's just a beautiful orange-coral color that seems to look good on any type of skin color. During the warmer seasons, I tend to be much more tan than I am right now and I assumed that this color would look disgusting on me but I had to give it a try. Little do I know, it compliments my skin color and I could wear this on a casual day. It's a matte color and it's decently pigmented. I think I only had to do 2 swipes in order to obtain my desired color. It's around 7 dollars at my local CVS so it's not bad at all. I highly recommend this lipstick! (:

Favored
Yet another Revlon lipstick! This one is the Revlon Matte Lipstick in Wine Not. I love the names for these lip colors. I discovered this color from a Youtube account called clothesencounters. One of the youtubers had it on as she flaunted her stylish outfits on the screen. The color would be described as a dark plum with a brown undertone. It's perfect for the Autumn/Winter, and it just gives off that dark and edgy feel that's been trending this winter! The color is very matte and it's highly pigmented so more than one swipe isn't necessary. The only flaw I find in this product would be that it was TOO DARK in my opinion. How I apply this lipstick is that I would lightly tap it onto my lips and blend the color. Overall, I truly love this but will I be re-buying this? I think not. Maybe something a shade lighter than this.

Not re-buying
Wet and Wild cosmetics has been around since I was a kid. The Mega Last Lipstick in Just Peachy is a light pinky-peach color that could potentially be a good color paired with some smokey eyes. This is a very cheap lipstick, I think it was only 3-4 dollars for me at my local CVS. What I like about this is that the color is very versatile, I can wear it out in the day time for a more natural look or put it on during the night time and  with a smokey eye look. What I dislike about this product would be that if you haven't prepped your lips yet (and by prepping, I mean chapstick and full on moisture), it will make your lips appear to be chapped or you'll look washed out. Another problem I have with it is that the application is very rough, it doesn't glide on smoothly, it feels like taking a crayon and dragging it through construction paper. This one was a no-go for me. ):

Urban Decay's Bamboo Palette

The Urban Decay's Bamboo Palette was the first eyeshadow palette I bought when I was still experimenting with make-up. I remember it all too well, stepping into the first nicely refined Sephora store in a mall that I drove an hour and a half to. I walked around aimlessly in the store until I laid my eyes on the bright purple shelf that screamed URBAN DECAY. I've recognized the brand before from previous videos of Youtube bloggers that rambled endlessly on how much they loved their products. I was 16 or 17 when I found this so encountering the price put me in an immediate awe. Of course, with my excitement and lust for cosmetics, I purchased it for 40 dollars. This palette offered a decent variety of colors. It also comes along with a small sample of the Urban Decay Primer Potion and for all you make-up junkies out there know this primer is awesome and works very well. You are able to create from a sexy smokey eye to a very flashy and striking kind of look. The colors that they had to offer were YDK (a cooler bronze color with gentle shimmers), Flipside (a very bright teal-ish color with satiny texture), Grifter (a glittery light purple with slightly pink undertones), Uzi (densely glittered white shadow), Twice Baked (A brown shade with golden shimmers), Midnight Cowboy Rides Again (A light golden shade with tons of shimmer), Flash (A very satiny bright purple color), Oil Slick (A deep grey shade with silver glitters), Kiddie Pool (A light blue shade with shimmers), and Half Baked (A bronzy golden shade with a satin finish). Now here are my biased opinions of each eyeshadow. I wouldn't say I have a favorite because, I honestly love this set as a whole, but there are colors that I prominently use. I often times use Half Baked, Oil Slick, Flipside and Flash. First of all, I have to say I love, love, love Half Baked. It's a beautiful color, it makes your eyes shine and it's a perfect golden eyeshadow. But it just looks too bright for my eyes. I have warm-toned skin and yellow-gold based colors normally look good on me but this color was too strong for my liking. It's a great color on other people; its not the color for me. Oil Slick appeared to be a black eyeshadow for me in the beginning but it turns out its just a dark grey. I like this color because it seems very versatile, it's a good shade to build up a smokey effect. Also, I have a red lipstick and on certain days I wish for the red to be a little deeper, I'll use Oil Slick and blend it only a tad bit onto my red lips to create a vampy look. The rest of the shadows are mediocre, I have no feedback on them except for Uzi. I barely used this shadow because it was thickly glittered and every time I put it on, I came out to look like a fairy because of all the glitter fall out. It is also not the way I applied it either, I know with such a delicate shadow, I should press on the shadow instead of brushing it on but it still is very loose and the sparkles just consumes my face. Overall, this wasn't a bad investment. I could create many looks with this palette but I do regret paying 40 dollars for it. I hope that you find this helpful and I'll post my next review tomorrow.

Hi everyone,

This is my first post for the blog! I'm super excited that I'm finally able to do this. I was a Journalism major my freshmen year of college and unfortunately, it just wasn't what I wanted to do for a living. Although that has ended, I am still very passionate about writing. I thought, hey, why not create a blog about make-up and fashion. Thus, combining my two favorite things into this one website. For my New Years resolutions, I want to commit and be dedicated to anything. I'm desperate. If you stumble upon to this site and enjoy the bits and pieces I've put up, please feel free to share them with your friends, family, facebook, neighbors, dog, cat, anyone. Thank you for taking your time to read this. Stay beautiful, you all!

About Me

My photo
My name is Irene and I'm a 19 year old student that attends the University of New Hampshire. I'm studying Social Work and aspiring to acquire my MSW. My hobbies are playing with make-up to create beautiful looks and writing. Hence why I established this blog. I'll be writing my reviews on cosmetics that are old, new and trending. I'm just getting started with this blog so I don't have a set schedule for when I'll be posting up reviews yet but as this progresses, I'm sure I'll have one for you all. Also, if by request, I may be doing tutorials on certain looks that I think are amazing, haul videos, and I'll be hosting an advice column for any of you who seeks guidance or clarity. I hope that this blog will become a success because this is what I'm truly passionate for and I hope you all enjoy and find use to what I have to share. So let's get pretty!!!
